“1-2-3, where should I be? Save the emergency department for emergencies only.” Campaign
The Emergency Department is a very busy place and may not be the fastest way to get medical treatment. To ensure that the most urgent cases are given priority treatment, the Canterbury District Health Board launched the “1-2-3, where should I be?” Campaign. This urges Cantabrians to think about the best place to go for health care, rather than simply head to the Emergency Department at Christchurch Hospital - Accident and Emergency Department, Riccarton Avenue, phone 364 0640.
So if you have a medical condition, it is best to assess your situation and decide whether you can best be treated by:
1. Your GP or,
2. Bealey Ave Medical Centre - 24 hour emergency health care or,
3. Emergency Department Christchurch Hospital
